What can I expect to pay for puppy training classes for a lab puppy?

The breeder I am interested in getting a labrador from requires that the pup be enrolled inatleast a “kindergarten” puppy training class…

I havent done any research on this yet, but I know classes are offered at petsmart. Roughly, what do you think this will cost?

Were just trying to get all the information on what her needs will be and what we need and want to buy for her before she is even born, so we are already prepared, and its always a good idea to have an idea of costs on each thing.
Misery, as Ive said, I am required to take her to the training classes.

Call Petsmart and ask what they charge.

I have paid $45.- to 65.- for a group course of 10 lessons with a private trainer who gives lessons.

A set of classes is about $30.00 – $50.00. It is a good experience in teaching you dog on leach in a room with other dogs.

I think a better way to go is to hire a trainer. They will come into your home (this is important) once a week for about a month and teach you to train your dog. The rate is about $50.00 per hour. It is best to find one that work for a half hour as the puppy will get tired, but most will only work for an hour.

In classes you do not get the individual attention as there are other owners who have needs. You have one shot of learning things. If you have a problem area, then you are stuck. With a trainer, you can go over and over things to you (not the dog) to you get it right. You can get into things they will never get into in a class, like biting, not to run out the front door when people come and they can start right away. This is what we did.

You can find them in the yellow pages. Avoid the ones will big contracts as they are for owners that have difficult dogs. You have a wonderful little buddy who is learning its place in the world. Give you puppy lots of love, and have fun.

good for you do your research, and prices may vary depending on location, so grab the phone book and start calling…

and labs are great, we have one…

I went to Petsmart for their puppy class and was well pleased. You will have to work at home with the puppy but it was worth it. This class lasted 8 weeks. Try to also go to the library and get some books on puppies, you’ll be a few steps ahead. The class cost about $100.00, our dog learned to sit, stay, come, settle, down, leave it, walking on a leash, and take it. You can also try the dog shelter in your area, sometimes they offer classes!

$30-200.

Don’t pay for classes. Go to the library and get a book for free. Or buy a book. We learned everything from books.
