Jynnifer, All my puppies are 12 weeks old before they go to their new home. They are unlike other breeds that are let go at 6-8 wks. They need that extra time for maturing as they are also the only breed that has a molera or baby’s soft spot on the head.
The treats are their regular Royal Canin dry Chihuahua dog food found in most Pet Stores or order online.

really! Wow! Well today, i was going to recieve a 7 month old chihuahua who has NOT gotten her shots yet and i dont know what to do!
You need to make sure that any treating vet is one familiar with your breed/size of animal, that they will be available for regular treatment and are fully licensed to provide the care you need, in whatever state you reside. The relationship with your vet is just as important as with any doctor/patient relationship of any other nature.
I do not know what breed you own, but a good general rule for shots begins around 6-8 wks of age. You would most certainly want a “well puppy” check up early on.

The mom was about 3 yrs old and the daddy was around 1.5 yrs. You asked about sizes and yes, you have a good match as far as sizes go - you always want to breed to a smaller male than your female. Waiting until the third heat is good and even the fourth. I prefer to wait until the female around two yrs old before delivering a litter of pups so these tiny bodies have a chance to fully develop. It makes for an easier chance for a free-whelper.
How old was the mom and dad? I am breeding my female 4lbs longhair chihuahua with a 2lbs male. I can see you take care of your puppies, and i was wondering if you could tell me some important information that i cannot find on the internet about breeding chihuahua’s. Are my male and female good size? Is it okay breeding her on her 3rd heat? Please reply and any additional information will help, alot. Thank you.
