Is it OK to bring my puppy to training class?
We have a ten week old Shih Tzu puppy who has had her first two vaccinations. Is it OK to bring her to PetSmart for puppy training, or should we wait until she has them all. I tend to think we should wait, but just making sure.
Thank you.

I think you should wait too, but ask your vet and the trainer.
wait till you have had them all. it is much safer to wait.
I would wait!!!You don’t want her getting anything!!!
I would wait.
I would wait.
It’s best if she has them all so she won’t catch anything or pass anything on :)
my obedience instructor insists that dogs be vaccinated i heard petmart was that way as well they had to be vaccinated before they could sign up.
its healthier for your dog and the other dogs in the class.
most puppy classes require you to have the full set of shots before enrolling, and will ask for proof..I’d wait..
Better to err on the side of caution. Your dog is a smaller breed and a bit more fragile although saying that about a Shih Tzu can make one laugh!
Better to wait until all of the shots are done or at least until she’s 12 weeks. Call PetSmart and check with them on their policy.
I think you should wait but if you want professional advice ask the trainer or vet if you could bring her but mostly I’d say wait. In the mean time maybe you could probbaly train her a bit yourself at the moment or just let her rest or like prepare her while she’s at home. Hope this Helps! =)
Depends on your trainer.
Puppies are allowed into my classes at 8 weeks old as long as they’ve had at least one distemper/parvo vaccination and a deworming and continue with veternary care throughout the class.
It used to be thought that puppies shouldn’t go out until their puppy series was finished. But normally puppy shots are finishing up right about the same time the optimum window for socialization is closing.
The veterinary and behavior societies have now decided that missing that window is more of a risk than the potential for disease.

I would wait if I were you, for her saftey and yours. Although it might be good to start training her at home the simple things such as sit and down. These two commands are easy and im sure that you and she can catch on quickly as to how to do this. Sit is a very easy command to teach, I do so by putting the pup in a sitting position and repeating sit while giving a reward. Once she has the hang of that you can slowly pull the treat to the floor and twords you and this will make her get in a “down” possition and just repeat down and again reward when in the correct place. Hopefully this helps some.
