Is 75$ a session too much for puppy training classes?
What would you say would be an average cost for obidience training for a puppy?

That is way too much. I paid $100 for 7 classes for my dog when she was about 5 months old.
It depends on the trainer. I would say that $75 is way too much. MAYBE tops $50 for an everyday trainer.
I think $75 is far too much. My trainer charges $180 for Novice Obedience, a 10 week program. So that works out to $18 a session. He’s also the VERY best trainer in my region, with over 25 years experience.
How long is it? PetSmart where I live has training classes for $99. It’s once a week for an hour for eight weeks. I think that’s about typical depending on where you live. I’m in TX.
You mean per lesson, or for the series of lessons?
For a set of lessons, $75 sounds VERY reasonable.
yes
compared to what most folks pay for stuff like that, no not at all. I guess some pay double that amount.
From my experiance a one on one session can run anywhere from $50.00 to $100.0 a session. 9 sessions cost me near $900.00 it was worth it though for myself and the dog.
good luck
These were private lessons from a professional behivor trainner much like Cesar Millian. They took place in my home.
There’s no right answer to this. It all depends on where you live. I paid $175 for 7 lessons. However, I live in a lower cost of living state. My cousin said he would have had to pay $100 per class where he lives.
It also depends on the trainer, etc.
Sounds cheap cheap to me. I charge 100 per 6 months.
For 75 bucks I could go to a restaurant and buy 5 fried puppies……..big waste of money…
I paid 65.- for 10 group lessons with an excellent trainer.
Are you paying for individual lessons? Try group obedience, socializes your dog with other dogs and new people too.
way too much. take a series of classes given by the city or buy a book.
PER session for a CLASS? I’d say it’s a bit high. It’s been almost 7 years since I’ve had a puppy in obedience class so I’m not up on current prices, they may have gone up. I paid somewhere around $100 (more give than take) for a course at a local kennel
idk i guess? WHY YOU ASK ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
when you say ” a session” do you mean ONE CLASS? or a bunch of them? it is NOT too much for a bunch of them
heck obedience lessons are SO important cost shouldnt be an issue..
its hard to say about average cost because we all live in different countries and exchange rates will give you mixed info.. you really should say where you live when you ask these types of things..
It would be to much if you lived up-state NY. I go to group classes for $70 for 8 weeks, and $20 for each private class. Classes are 1 hour long with an excellent trainer.
If that is for a one on one, in home session, it’s not to incredibly high, especially if it’s a VERY good trainer. If it’s a group of classes, say 6-8 classes, that’s not bad. If it’s group classes, at a facility, for $75 for 1 sessions, yes that is way to expensive! Do some more research in your area! As for the average class, I’m not sure. I always train my dogs myself, and bring them to classes occasionally for good distraction exercises (got free classes from a great trainer while I was a vet tech, and are now great friends…so I can bring him whenever I want for no charge!)
not at all, but that also depends on how many classes you’ll receive. i am paying $110 for 8 classes.
I paid $60 for a one hour in home session with an ex police
man who trained police dogs. He was good.
per class or per 6wk session?
My kids took the dogs to petsmart for a little under 100 for 6 wks– that’s 6 classes.
